Commanding "Strathcona's Horse"
Green Point Camp, Capetown, South Africa
25th April 1900
R.O. 433 – 25-04-1900
Detail for Thursday 26th April 1900
Captain of the Day, Captain Howard, D. M., of next for duty, Captain Cameron, D.M.
Subaltern of the Day, Lieutenant White-Fraser, M., next for duty, Lieutenant Strange, A.W.
R.O. 434 – 25-04-1900
The horses mentioned below which have been struck off the strength of "C" Squadron are found to be alive vis. Numbers 188, 189, 289, 284. This error was caused by the wrong numbers being taken onboard S.S. Monterey.
Horses Number 489, 485, 483 and 289 are missing. The regimental numbers of the horses above will be re-numbered to agree. If more care had been used in taking numbers of the dead horses, this error would not have occurred, and considerable trouble would have been saved.
R.O. 435 – 25-04-1900
Regimental Number 438 Private Cross, J.R., was on the 20th day of April, 1900 sentenced by a Regimental Court-Martial to 14 days hard labour and fined pay for 3 days for being absent without leave for 71 hours.
