Albert Edward Harrison of Montreal, Canada, having enlisted at Cape Town on 2nd May 1900 for service in Strathcona's Horse, is hereby taken on the strength of the regiment, and posted to "C" Squadron, vice Private Orchard, his Regimental Number will be 516.

Until further orders, Batmen and Grooms to Maxim Gun Officers, will drill with the guns.

The following N.C.O. and Private are promoted from this day. Regt. No. 397 Cpl. Curtis to be Lce. Sergt. vice Regt. No. 219 Sgt. R.S. Macdonald in hospital, Regt. No. 501 Pte. Humphrey to be Lce. Cpl. These promotions however have no extra pay attached to them. They are created to give the necessary authority.

The attention of all ranks is drawn to the fact that there is a great deal of carelessness about the water taps being left running, a large quantity of water is reported by Town Police to be constantly wasted, it is the duty of all ranks to prevent the cause for these complaints.

Members of the corps are forbidden to bang their horses tails. In event of the remounts lately taken over being banged, tails must be allowed to grow again.

The above mentioned horses will be retained permanently by "A" and "B" Squadrons. The two squadrons will be remounted uo to strength as early as possible. "C" Squadron will be mounted with horses taken over at Maitland.

AFTER ORDERS

Base Order parade for "A" and "B" Squadrons, drill order, mounted, with filled water bottles in sufficient time to join in behind the 6th Warwickshire Regiment at 9.00 am tomorrow on the Sea Point Road. Dinner will be served on the return of the regiment. Dress, khaki suits, brown boots and spurs, Stetson hats, side arms and rifle, bandoliers, Sam Brown belts for Officers. General parade at 8.30.
