The undermentioned Private of the Regimental Staff is promoted to the rank of Sergeant from 1st April 1900. Regt. No. 427 Private Moir, R.H., to be Sergt. and Orderly Room Clerk.

From today and until further orders, Regt. No. 352 Private Thomas, H., will act as batman to Lieutenant Benyon.

The following extract from Base Orders of 17th May 1900, is published for the information of the Quarter-Master.

"Mounted Corps before leaving their camping grounds are to hand over unexpended forage which they do not tale with them to the O.C.A.'s Corps at the station."

There will be a mounted parade tomorrow morning mounted. Fall in will be sounded at 8.30 am. General parade at 9.00 am.

The O.C. wishes to express his satisfaction at the conduct of Regt. No. 302 Private MacDonald, A., of "C" Squadron who through his pluck and energy was instrumental in saving the lives of several horses which had fallen into a pit full of water.
R.O. 598 - 18-05-1900
A N.C.O. and 4 men from "B" Squadron will proceed to Stellenbosch to assist in fitting pack saddles to 500 pack animals. The party will be mounted, armed and fully equipped and will heave here as soon as possible after breakfast.
