R.O. 623 – 23-05-1900

Morning Order:

A board of Officers of the following detail:-

President Captain Cartwright, Members Lieutenants Tobin and Christie will sit immediatley and report on the breeches delivered to the regiment by the Imperial Authorities on requisition.

R.O. 625 - 23-05-1900

The following transfer of horses will date from today and detailed to the N.C.O. and men mentioned opposite:-

No. 584 from Transport to "A" for Private Quick
No. 578 from Transport to "C" for Sergeant Alison

R.O. 626 - 23-05-1900

The following transfers will date from today. Transfered to "A" Squadron, they will be left at the base owing to be medically unfit to travel.

R.O. 628 - 23-05-1900

The C.O. is please to remit the unexpired portion of the sentence of Reg. No. 411 Private Wilson-Smith.

R.O. 629 - 23-05-1900

A bridal No. 41 the property of Reg. No. 70 Private Donnan having been stolen, Officers will make it thorough search to find this item.

R.O. 630 - 23-05-1900

"A" and "C" Squadrons together with mules, guns, vehicles and natives will embark to-morrow (Thursday) commencing at 8 am at the South Arm.

The mules, guns, vehicles and natives (Officers and Men detailed later) will embark at 2.00 pm on the s.s. "Mohawk" and "Maplemore". Dinners will be taken in camp before leaving.

R.O. 631 - 23-05-1900

"B" Squadron will hand over to "A" Squadron the horses, saddlery and extra baggage of the Officers, NCO's and Men of the 200 all ranks od "B". "A" Squadron will have charge of the above horses, saddlery and baggage till such time as the regiment comes together again. The baggage will be taken over at 5.00 pm tonight.

Regt. Order 630 - 23-05-1900 should read:

"A" and "C" Squadrons together with mules, guns, vehicles and natives will embark to-morrow (Thursday) commencing at 8 am at the South Arm.

The mules, guns, vehicles and natives (Officers and Men detailed later) will embark at 2.00 pm on the s.s. "Chicago" whilst the remainder of "A" and "C" Squadrons with all horses and baggage will embark at 2 o'clock on the steamships "Mohawk" and "Maplemore".

The troops embarking at 2 o'clock will take dinner in Camp.

R.O. 633 - 23-05-1900

The following will be at the South Arm at 8 am tomorrow ready to embark on the boat mentioned, with personal baggage, saddlery, arms, etc.

s.s. "Chicago"

Major Snyder in command, Lieut. Ketchen & No. 4 Troop "A", Lieut. Stevenson and Farriers of "A", Mr. Snider, the transport Sgt. and Private Quick.

Mr Benyon, Laidlaw, Magee, Machine Gun men, 359 mules, transport and machine gun, 33 wagons and carts, 4 machine guns, 10 horses, 4 pom- pom guns, 79 boys, 3 conductors.

s.s. "Mohawk"

Major Laurie in command, Mr. Leckie and 2 Troop "C" Squadron, Private Niblett, Vet. Assistand, 200 pack ponies and and mules, native drivers and one conductor.

The horses of the above officers and men will go on s.s. "Maplemore".

s.s. "Maplemore"

Lt. Col. Steele in Command. Capt.'s Howard and Cartwright, balance of "A" and "C" Squadrons including "C" Squadron, Farriers and F.Q.M.S. Mc,illian, 342 horses and saddles, arms and accoutriments, extra personal baggage, saddlery &c of 200 men of "B"
