The regiment will move forward tomorrow morning reveille will sound at dawn. If the morning is fine, tents will be struck first thing rolled and packed, the regiment should be ready to match in one and one half hours including time taken for breakfast. Squadrons that are short of horses will pick out the best of the pack ponies to complete, at once. "B" Squadron will furnish the advance guard. "C" Squadron will furnish the rear guard. Flanking patrols must be sent out from each body all along the column. Lieut. Kyle, Sergt. Nelles and four men of "B" Squadron will form the advance scouts. Officers and N.C.O.'s in charge of scouting parties and advance guard will govern their distance from the main body according to conditions and lay of the country through which they are passing.

"B" Squadron will take over their baggage brought "A" and "C" Squadrons at 1.00 pm today.

A sum of money has been placed in the hands of Mr. Garlick to be devoted towards purchasing comforts for the sick of the regiment in hospital. It will be the duty of Sergt. Macdonnell to see that the sick are well looked after and when money is required for the purchase of comforts for them he will apply to Mr. Garlick.

The following promotion will date from the 27th, May, Reg. No. 441 Private Townsend is promoted to Lance-Corporal to No. 4 Troop.

Lieut. A. R. H. Kyle having reported himself for special service with the regiment is attached to "B" Squadron for duty.

Capt. Livingstone, R.E. and Lieut. Walker, R.E. are attached to the regiment and taken on strength from 28th May. They will be attached to "B" Squadron.

Capt. Chesney, Bengal Lancers having reported himself for special service is taken on the strength of the regiment and posted to "B" Squadron from 28th May, 1900.

59 Bhistis are taken on strength of the regiment for services in connection with the pack animals. They are posted to "B" Squadron from 28th May, 1900

R.O. 646-09-06-1900

303 Pack ponies and 2 mules are taken on the strength of the regiment and posted to "B" Squadron from 28th May.

R.O. 647-09-06-1900

The following horses are hereby transferred from "B" to "A" Squadron: Reg. No.'s 13, 76, 46, 10 and 466.

R.O. 648-09-06-1900

Routine Order 636 of today as far as relating to Regimental Number 10 Pte. Barker is hereby cancelled.

Until further orders the Machine Gun Battery will form a distinct unit of themselves. They will draw their own rations, forage, pay, &c., will have their own lines and be under command of Lieut. Magee. The guns must at all times to be in state of readiness for action. When a gun is required to move with a particular squadron the O.C. of the battery must be prepared to send one immediately.

The following horses and mules and ponies having died or been destroyed are hereby struck off the strength of the regiment: Reg. No. 668, 720, 748, 200, 714, 224, Pony 886, 694, 686, 171, 831, 610.

That part of Routine Order 637 reading as follows: " "B" Squadron will furnish the advance guard. "C" Squadron will furnish the rear guard. Flanking patrols must be sent out from each body all along the column. Lieut. Kyle, Sergt. Nelles and four men of "B" Squadron will form the advance scouts."" is cancelled and the following is substituted.

The advance and rear guards will be furnished by the different squadrons in turn commencing with "A" Squadron. One troop will be furnished tomorrow by "A" Squadron for the advance guard and one troop of "C" Squadron for the rear guard with their troop officers in charge.

Two sections will be furnished by the troop forming the advance guard to act as advance scouts under Lieut. Kyle and L. Sergt. Nelles. Care should be taken in selecting the men for this particular work.

R.O. 653-09-06-1900

Three wagons will be told off permanently to each squadron and will move in conjunction with the squadron to which they are attached. They will be placed at the head of the transport when on the march so that they will be first arrivals at camping grounds. After discharging their freight they will go to the transport lines.

The following N.C.O.'s and men will act as advance scouts permanently and will be excused all other duty, they will be prepared to start each march half an hour before the regiment.
