3rd Mounted Brigade Orders

1. Arrivals
Strathcona’s horse having a arrived this day are taken on strength of the brigade.
2. Moves
The brigade will move tomorrow at 7am in the following order:-
Composite regiment:
South African Light Horse
A Battery Royal Horse Artillery
Royal Engineers
Strathcona’s Horse
Thorneycrofts Mounted Infantry
Units will fill up from the supply column at daybreak. The leading regiment will march on Pirde Kop covering the front and right flank of the advance.
The baggage, field hospital and supply column should be ready to move in rear of the 11th Brigade at 8.30am.
The 11th Brigade will immediately follow the 3rd Mounted Brigade.
Lieut. Prettyjohn, T.M.I., will be in charge of the baggage and should report to the brigade major, 11th Brigade for orders.
In accordance with the above orders the regiment will arise at 4.30am. Baggage must be carried over, packed in squadron baggage wagons where they stand at present by 4.45am. Men will then go to breakfast. Cooks will have to be up at 4am. The regiment must be formed up and ready to march at 6am sharp.
