No. 1 Fires
On no account must fires be lighted except at the cook kitchens and even there great care must be exercised to prevent the fire spreading.
Before a kitchen fire is lighted a portion of the ground at least 12 feet in diameter must be burnt and the kitched cut in the center.
Officers Commanding Squadrons will be held responsible that this order is strictly adhered to.
A fire will be permitted for the use of the guard at night but must be carefully watched that it does not spread.

3rd Mounted Brigade Orders

No.1 Boards
A medical board will assemble at the hospital at 9.30 am tomorrow for the purpose of examining such men as may be brought before it with a view as to their fitness for further services. President Major Bruce, R.A.M.C., Members:- Medical Officer T.M.I. C. S. Findlay.
No. 2 Duties
Regiment for duty: S.A.L.H.
No. 3 Dead Animals
All carcasses of animals are to be taken two miles to the N.W. of the camp.
No. 4 Watering
No horses are to be taken by the road which leads towards the town. They should proceed to the Vaal River leaving the infantry camp to the left by the road which will be pointed out by Major Heath R.E. who will make the necessary arrangments for ramps over the dongas leading to the river.
No. 5 Rum
There will be an issue of rum tonight.
