Berenice,
"3947 Pte. W.Todd of 8th Imperial Yeomanry" was killed in action at Faber's Put on 30/5/00 as shown. My IY Cd shows him as serving with 24th Coy.(Westmoreland and Cumberland). The 8th Bn., IY. suffered many casualties, killed and wounded, on that day; the action - which is covered extensively in Maurice, Vol. 3 pages 19 - 22, was hard fought on both sides. The yeomen fought extremely well and seemly took most of the casualties in blunting the Boer attack. Maurice describes the action as a "brief but spirited affair".
