In the Royal Engineers Museum at Brompton, Gillingham, Kent.

Some of the dates differ from those on the rolls-of-honour below but I'd be inclined to go with the online dates.

Lieut. R.J.T.DIGBY JONES V.C. Killed at LADYSMITH Jan 6th 1900
2nd Lieut. G.B.B.DENNISS Killed at LADYSMITH Jan 6th 1900
Major H.H.MASSEY Killed at SPION KOP Jan 24th 1900 (Correct spelling of his surname is Massy)
Lieut. R.W.BELL Died at DE-AAR Feb 12th 1900
Lieut. S.D.BARROW Died at MODDER RIVER March 6th 1900
Lieut. R.E.MEYRICKE Died at MARITZBURG March 8th 1900
Lieut. R.J.JELF Died at Sea on Passage Home from South AFRICA June 2nd 1900
Capt. E.G.YOUNG Died at KIMBERLEY June 3rd 1900
Lieut. F.G.S.COTTON Killed by an Explosion at PIENAARS' RIVER Camp Oct. 6th 1900




The first four and the sixth names below are ABW-related.

Lieut.C.E.S.NEILL. Died at STANDERTON Feb.13th 1901
Baronet Lt.Col. C.MAXWELL. Killed at ROUXVILLE May 21st 1901
Lieut.R.ANDERSON. Died of Wounds Recd at ZEEKOVAT,TRANSVAAL July 11th 1901
2nd Lieut.C.CHENEVIX-TRENCH. Died at HEILBRON Apr 13th 1902

Thank for showing another interesting memorial.

Lieutenant Digby Jones VC was one of the heroes of the Battle of Wagon Hill during the Siege of Ladysmith. The successful defence of the hill known to the Boers as Platrand probably saved Ladysmith from falling into the hands of the Boers.
