Forum members,
Has anyone a list of the casualties on the ABW memorial at Duncombe Place York www.angloboerwar.com/forum/17-memorials-...rk-boer-war-memorial
I realise the obvious person is Meurig, I have asked his advice and he mentions this list is on his website.
I have searched it without success, I do not want to bother him again.
I have also searched the newspaper archives without success.
My next avenue is to photograph the names and transcribe, difficult because this a is a tall memorial.
Any info gratefully received.

Regards
Paul :)

Sorry, I can't help immediately, but, if you're not in a rush, I don't mind going through to York on Saturday 9th May to take photos.

Spent the day at York yesterday firstly taking photos of the panels of the memorial.
As I guessed it was a difficult task with some of the panels at a higher level.
I paid a visit to the treasurers house located next to the Minster and received some information ref the memorial from one of the volunteer staff.
She suggested a visit to the City library achieves, I called in but ran out of time to investigate.
A few avenues opened up to me on the day that I am to further investigate.
I find it unbelievable that a record of the casualties on the memorial is not readily available.
Indeed speaking to the staff in the National Trust shop in York they thought the ABW memorial was for WW2
