Not sure if this work is listed anywhere else of this excellent Boer War resource?

Just in case it's not, here is the PDF report.

I carried out this transcription a number of years ago.

Box500,

That's excellent, many thanks.

Is it OK if I paste the transcription into the body of a message here in the forum so that the information is searchable?

Best wishes
David

Fill yer boots to yer hearts content.....

Let me know if anyone wants a MS Word version.

Same goes for absolutely ANYTHING on my website Kentfallen.

It's interesting to see how the good people of Kent came to wrongly refer to the Imperial Yeomanry as the ROYAL Imperial Yeomanry. I come across this kind of idiocy quite often. People sometimes confuse the actual official name of a regiment or military unit with the type of military unit. In the case of Kent's two Yeomanry units (Royal East Kent Mounted Rifles and West Kent Yeomanry) the same kind of confusion was (and still is) commonplace. I still see so called experts calling the Royal East Kent Mounted Rifles the East Kent Yeomanry! In fact, the East Kent Yeomanry was the type of unit and sub area of that type of unit. In Kent matters aren't helped by the name of the West Kent Yeomanry - West Kent Yeomanry! RANT OVER lol.

For those of you interested, the reason I sought out this excellent Boer War forum was the fact I'm starting to research the movements of my Gt Grandfather during the Boer War (Pte 5819/5816 William Charles CLARK, 2nd Buffs (East Kent Regiment)).

I intend to locate and map his movements during the war.

The problem I have is locating the current day locations of old place names used in old books etc.... It's really infuriating.

I have looked on Google Earth Community for any maps which pinpoint these locations without success.

I was wondering if anyone here might be interested in helping me construct a Google Maps map giving the relevant data and locations? It's quite a big ask I know..... Maybe start with grabbing all locations referred to in various old books and then tracing their exact whereabouts.

The Google Map can then be uploaded by anyone free of charge - all they would need is the link which could easily be placed here as a sticky?

One might even attempt to construct some detailed maps of the various battles and engagements too....

I'd imagine this kind of information would be invaluable to almost everyone with an interest in the Boer War.

I know it would help me....... :cheer:
