This silver cup was presented to the regiment by Colonel B.N. North and the other officers of the 3rd Battalion who served in the campaign.

An impressive piece of silver.

"Land River" is Zand River

"Zeerogate" is almost certainly wrong, could be Zeekoegat - one in the Cape and one in the Transvaal recorded so far. I can't find a connection with the regiment, nor did they suffer any casualties on that date.
