That is indeed a most unusual headstone! Thank you for showing it. Is it unusual for a headstone of a Private to be erected by both the officers and other ranks of his regiment? I would be interested in knowing the identity of the rocks used in the surrounds and for the inscribed part. Something local, perhaps? Also, I could not make out the identity of the Hussars regiment, while the year of death is given as 1909, not 1901.
