3378 Sergeant Frank Markland, 12th (The Prince of Wales's Royal) Lancers. Killed in action at Waterkloof, Cape Colony, South Africa, on 28th January 1902, aged 34.

I was very lucky as it started to hail while I was in the churchyard; 20 minutes later, while I was on the bus, it was torrential.
