Proud Anderson,

Is this the memorial to which you refer?

It is magnificent and relates the Queen's Lancers in India.

As to the models for the figures, I would suggest contacting the Regimental Museum to see if they have any records of the project.

I was going to suggest looking up the local newspaper for the date of its unveiling, but then I found that that was in c.1869, which is too vague a date. Contact the Exeter Local History Society, there's bound to be someone there with an interest in Exeter's military history.

The most senior man listed, Lt Col Yule, was killed at Delhi during the Indian Mutiny, 1857.
