The Palmer roll shows Fred Gosling's number as 7925 and that of Bertram Peart as 51.
The same roll shows -
"6911 Pte. A.Clarke, Died of Disease (enteric) at PMB 13/6/00"
"7123 Pte. G. Midgeley, Died of Disease at Charlestown, 11/11/01 Vol. Coy."
Regarding "George Thornton", there was no entry in Palmer. There was however the following: "6134 Cpl. J.Thornley, 1 Y&L, Sev. Wounded, Italia, 26/9/01 and died 8 Nov". SAFF entry agrees.
Regards
IL.
