At Holy Trinity Church, West Hendred, Oxfordshire.



In the churchyard I found a second memorial for Alder. There are no other inscriptions on the stone, so it's definitely a memorial.

58TH CO. IMPERIAL YEOMANRY
WHO DIED OF ENTERIC
AT LINDLEY S. AFRICA
DEC. 27TH 1900.
AGED 23 YEARS.
I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT
I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE
ERECTED BY HIS FRIENDS
AND COMRADES

His name also appears on the British Memorial in Lindley Cemetery, South Africa.

Thanks Berenice for the outdoor memorial. A correspondent recorded the plaque for me in 1995, but missed the memorial outside, easily done, looks just like a grave marker and is not easy to read.
