In St. Mary's Church, Syston. I had no idea that this window was there, and what a stunning memorial it is.

HOROLD
, of the Leicestershire Regiment, who was killed in action near Rietfontein last week, was the second son of Sir John Henry Thorold, of Syston Park, Grantham, by his marriage with the Hon. Henrietta Willoughby, eldest daughter of the late, and sister of the present, Lord Middleton. Captain Thorold was born on November 17, 1871, and entered the Army as a second lieutenant in the Leicestershire Regiment on January 21, 1893. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in December, 1895, and obtained his company last October. He had seen much service during the present campaign, latterly as adjutant of the 3rd Battalion Railway Pioneer Regiment, for which appointment he was seconded in his regiment. Universal sympathy is expressed with Sir John and Lady Thorold in the severe loss they have sustained. This is the second bereavement which has fallen upon the family during the present war. In consequence of the sad event the meet of the Belvoir Hounds, arranged to be at Syston on Tuesday, was transferred to Rauceby.
