The tablet is in Dalton Parish Church (Church of Scotland), Dumfries & Galloway. He's also named on the Clifton College memorial; and on a plaque which accompanies a stained-glass window in St. John the Evangelist Church, Moffat, both being St Ninian's School's ABW memorial.

Captain Murray was subsequently buried at Spion Kop and he is remembered in All Saints church Ladysmith, his death on that wretched Kop is very sad and had Buller thought a little more than he did, both it and countless more could have been avoided.
