In Tadcaster Cemetery, North Yorkshire. There's also a plaque dedicated to him in Tadcaster Parish Church.

The only entry for a H.S.H.Callum in Palmer reads "Drowned, Sanna's Post, 14/4/02, accidentally" and with Imperial Military Railways. SAFF agrees with the IMR heading. Perhaps Army Surgeon Callum had been detached for duty with IMR.
Best regards
IL.

He is listed under IMR on the Casualty Roll which backs up IL's suggestion.

It is not unusual for the wounded to be transported to the medical facilities by train so it would make good sense if civilian doctors were assigned to some of these trains.

In St Mary's Church, Tadcaster. The plaque is partly-obscured by a wooden screen, unless you're very tall and can see over the top.
.

A TADCASTER SURGEON DROWNED.
....Civil Surgeon Callum, whose death by drowning was recorded in the casualty lists published yesterday, was Mr. H. S. H. Callum, M.B., B.Ch., only son of Mr. W. Callum, B.A., head master of the Tadcaster Grammar School. Dr. Callum was a student of the Yorkshire College, where he won a medical scholarship, and a graduate of Victoria University. A year and four months since he went out to South Africa, and was attached to No. 8 General Hospital at Bloemfontein. He next took sole charge of the hospital at Vredefort Road, with two concentration camps attached, and was afterwards transferred to Sanna's Post. He was to have returned home last Christmas, but signed on for six months longer. His work was highly appreciated, and he always wrote home in good spirits. The telegram states that he was drowned bv the upsetting of a boat on the Modder River at Sanna's Post, and his friends express surprise at this, as he was a strong swimmer. Dr. Callum was 31 years of age.
