TOPIC:

While researching the Volunteer Company of the Devonshire Regiment I came across the following tablet which I had not seen before (it is not in Gildea).

It is in The Guildhall Exeter (photo from www.exetermemories.co.uk/em/_people/boerwar.php ).

It is to the men from Exeter who volunteered to fight in the Boer War. Exeter seems to have done her volunteers proud. As well as the marble tablet, the returning volunteers were each given a silver watch in tribute for their service.
