This so close to me, almost on the door step infact, yet I had never seen it before, the Manchester's are one of my favourite regiments too, thank you for showing it.

I had no idea they were there. On the off-chance I rang the bell at the barracks, asked if they had any memorials, and was allowed inside by an officer to take these photos.

Me neither, I only drove along Downing Street two days ago, if you take a walk in Ardwick Green Park there is a memorial to some of the local boys who lost their lifes in the Great War.

And in what used to be St Thomas' Church, across the road from the park, but which is now a conference centre, is a WW1 roll of honour and part of the WW2 wooden panelling from the Memorial Chapel.
