Hello Mike,
That is very kind of you, but, please don't go to too much trouble, one of my main interests as far as medals go is the 2nd TAF, the Sea Fury was developed from the Tempest V and I am very familiar with it's cockpit layout.
Kind regards Frank

The aircraft were declared surplus by the Government and sent to a trade school here in Calgary for air trade students to work on and have been very very well looked after and are in mint condition....

Hello Brett,
The Hawker Sea Fury was and indeed, remains to this day, a very fine flying machine, it was developed from their Tempest V, but, had the reliable Bristol Centaurus engine, rather than the "in line" Napier Sabre, which was most unreliable, it used a cartridge starter and if it had not "fired" after the third attempt, many a pilot had to remove the pin of his Sutton Harness and climb out, very annoying to be sure.
They had "pushed" things to their limit really with the Fury, but a pilot had almost two and a half thousand horse power, moreover, if you pulled the control column right back into your stomach and opened the throttle, you could go up, almost vertical, for quite some time before the loss of power became at issue.
Perhaps it was all too late in the day really, but, it was an extraordinary aeroplane, the four Hispano mark five remained a most potent "edge" as well, even throughout the 1950's, perhaps to, I was going a little too far with the reference to "taking on a mig" but, you could certainly hold your own against them, moreover, I should perhaps add that I actually knew the late Commander Peter Carmichael to.
Kind regards Frank

This part of the museum must be a marvellous place for little boys to visit - and also older ones like Frank. Thank you for sharing the pics.

Regards
Brett

It is set up so the public can see through the optics but it is rigged so that you can only see part of the city skyline and not into any offices or houses.....
