The main reason why this site has been experiencing some performance problems and downtime in the last few months is because of its size and modest popularity. The companies that hosted the site were concerned that the resources it required to run were in excess of what they had agreed to provide. To resolve this situation, I have moved the site to a form of hosting where it has its own dedicated resources. As a result, the site should run better and I can flex this agreement in the future as required.

This change as made a few hours ago so please let me know if your experience of using the site is different to how it has been of late.

I am planning to upgrade the site to the latest version of the content management system. This will involve a short period of downtime and afterwards the site will have a slightly (hopefully improved) look. I will advise of the date for this closer to the time.

I am finding this morning the speed seems to have increased when opening new posts.
