Today marks the 8th birthday of the AngloBoerWar site.
The statistics for the site in the last year make interesting reading:
Visitors: 87,671. 58% are new visitors.
Countries with the most visitors: 1. UK. 2. SA. 3. Australia. 4. USA. 5. Canada. 6. NZ. This is the same ranking as a year ago.
Visits: 144,758
Page views: 683,835
Average time on site: 4m 53s
51 - 100 visits in the year: 294 people
101 - 200 visits in the year: 246 people
200+ visits in the year: 771 people
The forum grows from strength to strength. We made some structural changes to the forum this year to better cope with an expanding range of subjects. There are 1,759 subjects and 6,673 messages.
The number of names in the register has grown to 310,000. There is still a long way to go before the names of all the soldiers in the war have been captured.
From a site availability perspective, this has not been a good year. We have experienced three site outages. One was caused by an equipment failure at the host and the other two were caused by restriction on the site imposed by the hosts. Having changed hosts twice this year, I think the site is now on a much more stable platform and therefore much less liable to service interruptions.
If there are any areas you would to see covered in the site, please let me know.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who has supported the site this year.
With best wishes
David
