I had the opportunity to visit the Musee de l'Armee in Paris today. Ever hopeful of finding a QSA, there were not in the collection on display and of course there's no reason why they would have any really. De Gaulle's awards are on display and there are medals dotted throughout the displays including some DSOs and a DFC. No medal room as you might see in other museums.

There was one item related to the Boer War, this satirical poster.

Not Boer War related, there were several images taken from French magazines of the time. Does anyone know if any of these are available online?

Le Petit Journal was the one I was thinking about but there may be others?

David
And the Brits were capable of some perhaps less-than-subtle cartoons as well! The attached one from The Black and White Budget No.7 page 32.

I like the imagery of the poodle (a far from subtle characterisation here!) with the can bearing the title "Fashoda" tied to its tail (more far from subtle etc.) looking at the cartoons of The Brave Boers and "Sir Bullers" (sic) running away from them. In another Age, one might see the poodle running away; spooked by the tin can (bearing the reminder of being faced-down at Fashoda) banging away on the road behind it!
Best regards
IL.
