Associated with the pair of Mullins family QSA medals is the illustrated collection of items. The little medals in the form of a Maltese Cross are quite well known here (they have been discussed on this site previously). The two little badges at 8 o'clock are lapel badges, the two uppermost items relate to the 25th anniversary of Peace. The oval plaque (can't think of another name for it) also relates to the 25th Anniversary of Peace. It is held in the "display" position by a spring-loaded triangular prop on its rear. The lapel badges and the little medals are quite common; the other items very much less so. I have never seen another Peace plaque.
The South African Soldiers' Association was founded in several States of newly Federated Australia. Information on the SASA is not all that easy to find. It is thought to have been overtaken by the Returned Services League; which was formed after the Great War and became a powerful political entity in Australia.
