Hi Chaps,

I just acquired a couple of nice cabinet card photographs both taken by the same Jamestown photographer and thought it would be nice to share them here. The uniforms and equipment suggest that both groups are of the same unit/regiment. There is what appears to be a cloth slouch hat badge in both images but almost impossible to make out.

If you wish me to enlarge a particular are of either photograph, just let me know?

I see that the rifles most prominently shown are Lee-Metfords Mk.1* and the bandoliers are of the cotton type with added flaps. Date about mid-late 1900? I suppose the chap on the RHS of the top pic is a signaller.

Yes a tough looking bunch for sure. This chap (below) certainly means business.

I do like these early photos and these two were espeically interesting as both by the same photographer and appear to show the same unit. Nice they stayed together.
