For the School Children of Stockton-on-Tees, Thornaby, and Norton, with Colonel and Mrs Ropner's best wishes.

Prussian-born Colonel Robert Ropner was the M.P. for Stockton (1900-1910). Through the month of November, 1900, he treated the schoolchildren of Stockton, Thornaby and Norton to a series of teas, and this souvenir poster, or card, may be connected with that.

The pictures certainly help to date poster to mid 1900, just right for his November school visits.
