I am, with others, searching for unkown work by the poet/author CICELY FOX SMITH, (1882 - 1954).
Examination of the online archives of the "Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser" for the year 1900 shows that she wrote a poem with the title "Oom Paul's Hat".
This was printed on card, 11" x 7 1/2", in two colours with portraits of Lords Roberts & Kitchener and was to be sold for three pence. The proceeds going to the WAR FUND for the relief of widows, orphans and wounded veterans of the war.
This poem has not been published in any of her other works and we would like to track it down.
Her first work was published in 1899, aged 17 and her last in 1955, the year following her death.
Most of her poems may be found here : All Poetry CFS
We would be pleased to hear from any forum members that might know of this poem, or be able to suggest how it might be searched for in the big wide world??

Good Morning Jake and David.....

Have read this thread with great interest.....

A number of years ago I purchased a Devonshire Regiment Christmas Tobacco tin......

Inside was a poem I have no idea who wrote it but I thought I would share a few pictures.... I think that since it is from a Tobacco Company it may have been the company that filled the tin.....

I am not home right now and will write out the whole thing and post it when I get a chance.....
