Good Morning Paul.....

Yes I saw these and kept track of them but did not bid.....

I did not bid as I have the collection already, according to my records I was able to pick up the set in 1998 for $200.00 Cdn..... Along with a viewer.....

I was called back by the seller (a local antique dealer) in 2010 nd he said that he had something better that I might be interested in and it was a collection of about 150 Glass Lantern Slides and a viewer which I purchased for $350.00.....

That seems like a very good investment you made, judging by the sale price of the ebay set.
I have a few myself but not the viewer, does it give a good effect Mike.
Well done on the lantern slides as well, bet you spent many hours viewing those!

Hi Paul....

With regards to the glass slides I have been trying to find a photo shop locally that can make prints for me or put them on a computer disk..... It can be done but at a great cost..... It has been suggested to me that I go to the local University or Technical School and talk to one of the teachers and see if it can be done as a class project.....

I have seen a few of the lantern slides but never the complete set. Is there is a list of all the slides do you know? Perhaps we could start a new thread for them and see if we can collect images for our own online set as that sounds like it may be a cheaper option.

Hi David.....

I do not know of a list of the lantern slides as there is of the stereoptic slides..... I tried to scan them but the reflection from the glass when the light from scanner hits the glass of the slide reflection from the glass blanks out the picture.....

Maybe a new thread with just pictures..... i.e. I mean one for photos that are not associated with an article so there is no duplication.....
