I thought it might be interesting to follow up my original thread www.angloboerwar.com/forum/19-ephemera/8...ly-edition-1901-1902
with some extracts that might be of interest.
I have photographed a few columns from the newspaper, I hope they are readable and are past copyright now.
The first is a columns listing soldiers pay.

That should have been a wake up call of what fighting in the new century was going to be like, very tragic indeed, that, so many lessons were not learned here. :(
