Hi All

Found these a number of years back in a second hand shop whilst looking for WW1 postcards.

They were torn out of an album but are in great condition, sadly all that is written on the rear is Maxim Gun Position on hill and on one Gun position from the South!

Regards

Brian

100% correct, obviously no Commando's near this outpost!

I would love to know where these were taken and return there for a then and now photo session.

Unfortunately no landmarks are to be seen. :(

I suspect these would have been taken with glass negatives, the clarity and details are amazing, the little buggy was for the Maxim when it was dismantled from it's mounting. Note the oil can on the rock in the third picture, a vital item to keep the gun firing without jamming.

Brian
