Is it me or does the person in the picture have 3 legs? No wonder he was captured!

I hadn't considered that Frank. I thought it was one of those representations like the pictured by Sutherland where the troops are depicted in traditional uniforms to make it easier to see who they were.

This postcards was dated 1902 so I guess it could be wither.

Rifles appear to be Mausers judging by the shape of the butt stock in upper left of cartoon. Seems the Continental types had a bit of trouble coming to terms with khaki (camouflage) uniforms as opposed to full-dress. Such depictions were quite common in the early days of the ABW.
