TOPIC:

I have two interests in the Boer War: my great grandfather E M S Crabbe, who commanded the 3rd Battalion the Grenadier Guards, and then a column; and Captain J T Lutley of Brockhampton, near Bromyard where I live.
I doubt if anyone has any information on Col. Crabbe which I don't have; but if anyone knows anything about Lutley, who served with 5th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry (and possibly with the South African Constabulary) I'd be really grateful to hear from them.

Here he is, from a clipping in the Illustrated London News c.1900, showing, for once, a clear picture of the 5th coy badge on rosette complete with sprig of silk Pear Blosom. I have another of him seated with a group of officers somewhere. Could be a different Crabbe though?
