Hi to every one on the forum
My name is Philip and I collect only QSA-KSA medals to the King's Shropshire L.I., I have been collecting and researching the regiment for 15 years or so and have managed to find some interesting medals, some single issues others in groups, and of course the ones which await to reunite,as time goes by I have found it difficult to locate QSA's and KSA'S and when you do you can pay an arm and a leg the Shropshire's are a very popular unit to collect to. Once I have acquired a medal or group I then go about the researching side,8 times out of 10 you can find their service papers which can give you an in site into their lives in the army I do tend to collect these days to only medals of local lads with a connection to the county, this makes it more likely yo find out more information on the soldier i-e local newspapers and such. I have also acquired a large amount of letters written by soldiers serving in South Africa with the regiment.
I look forward to being an active member of the Anglo Boer War Site, I only wish I started earlier

the group belongs to an old soldier who served in the Boer War-Great War and home guard in WW2
CSM Arthur Robinson 5816 Shropshire L.I., he also served in the King's African Rifles in 1917

Goof to have you on board. Better late than never? I look forward to learning more about the SLI.

I did some research on the awards of the HK Plague Medal last year ( angloboerwar.com/forum/5-medals-and-awar...-medal-and-qsa#12300 ) but didn't make too much progress. To you have any information on this the combination of Plague Medal and QSA/KSA recipients?
