Hello everyone,
My name is Ben and I have recived some photos of my great great uncle.
My nan who now has altzimers gave these to my mum and mum then gave them to me as I love family history and to know my roots.
I don't know a lot about this chap other than his name was Charles and he was in the boer war.
I was looking at the way he was dressed and he doesn't look like a low ranking solider. I noticed the white cord going round his left shoulder also I zoomed in on his cap badge and with a quick bit of research it seems the badge is a officers in the artillery ?
I know my mum knows a lot more than me but is on Holliday at the moment and as soon as she is back I will update surname and stuff.
I was just excited to share what I had found on this website and maybe somebody could give me some more information on his dress.

We should be able to help you move forward with your research. The uniform is not that of an officer but you're right about the cap badge. Please let us know the surname of your ggu, and his number if possible, and we will see what we can do.

Hello Ben, welcome here,
Your photo shows a driver or gunner in the RFA/RHA and is post Anglo Boer War, these men were mounted troops and were dressed as such, as here, in home service dress.
