Hi there, I have a QSA to 6940 Pte J Daly of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. I cannot find him here with that number, there are a couple of J Daly's RDF but with different numbers. The medal is not renamed.

Any thoughts?

6940 Private John Daly, an 18 year old labourer from Limerick joined the Dublin's on the 16th of January 1900 and served amongst other places in South Africa from the 22nd of June 1900 until the 11th of February 1902, upon on discharge, I dare say the Army was very grateful indeed, despite the award of both the QSA and KSA!

Askari,

His KSA is listed on WO100/347p298/ A note says it was replaced 2 Feb 1908 and a further note says it was returned 20 Dec 1909.

His QSA is listed on WO100/209p279 with clasp Cape Colony. A note says he deserted 16 Jan 1901.

What was that about agreeable rogues??
