He served in the Anglo-Boer War as Pte 4549 10th Hussars - fortunately his papers for this service are on FindmyPast.co.uk. They confirm wife - "Lourie" married 1908, Broadwater, Worthing. He was born Durrington, Worthing. Died Wokingham District, Sept 1959.

WW1 papers don't appear to be on Ancestry, so worth contacting the MOD.
