I have this number and was wondering if it is a Boer War Soldiers Regimental number and if it is what his name is (3279)Br178
I am the Service Officer of the Royal canadian Legion Br178 Bowmanville, Ontario. My interest in the Boer War has always been the history of it, and I help other people find info on their relatives.John Greenfield

There are at least 28 soldiers with the service number 3279 who served in the Anglo-Boer War. When I've finished databasing the medal rolls I can give you a definitive answer.

Can you give us more context on the number - surely it doesn't exist on it's own?
