My interest in the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 10 years 4 weeks ago #23273

My paternal and maternal grandparents were all involved in this War. Fortunately none perished. My maternal grandmother Johanna Catharina Pretorius was one of the first casualties of the scorched earth policy when their house was burnt and she was captured together with children who were visiting her. She started a diary on that day and kept it up through her imprisonment in the Harrismith and Pietermaritzburg concentration camps. This diary has never been published and I plan to do this.

I needed t know more about the historical facts at the time, and am therefore reading boks, other publications and study website information - like this one.
