Hi,
Rod here. The short story. Served 22 years with the Canadian Army. Started out as a Leo tank gunner with the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Lahr, West Germany. Retired in 2000 as a member of the Lord Strathconas Horse (Royal Canadians).
My family history?
On my dads side. German. Grandpa had served German Army First War (from Barvaria). He came over to Canada in 1928.
On moms side. English. Poppa...died before I was born (1960). Served British Army (or so I've been led to believe..it's really quite confusing) during the Boer War and First War.
On this site trying to track down some of his service history. Seems that a lot of people don't go into great (or as much) detail as I do when inquiring as to service history. All the relatives can say is that he served. Marvy says I!
