Hello all

I'm trying to find out about my Great Grnadfather Charles Henry Wood (1875-1960) born in Birmingham I believe. He was a professional soldier serving with the Seaforth Highlanders. My family's recollection is that he served in the Boer War but I'm not so sure. I've located a Charles Wood (3948) involved in the relief of Chitral (1895 India).

I wonder if anybody could help me out. Is there a nominal roll.

If he wasn't in the Boer War then perhaps you could point me where to find out more about him. I have no definite service number for him as yet.

I know that he fought in WWI also in the Seaforths (possibly 3/7678) and was affected by mustard gas. Again I've found a Charles Wood who was invalided out in 1917. Again I can't be sure that this was him.

I'd be really grateful for any assistance as I'm trying to complete a section on him for the IWM site.

Many thanks
Stuart
