I'm probably missing the blindingly obvious, but I can't see any logic determining the prescribed order of wearing QSA clasps. Can anyone help?

Thanks. It has now become clear that they are in chronological order, but with one exception. I was aware of the list on the site, but until just now had never written down against the order of wearing the qualification dates. These are detailed in the qualification criteria above the order of wearing but not in chronological order.

The thing which had puzzled me originally was that the Relief of Mafeking clasp came before, and very separate, from the Defence of Mafeking Clasp. Having now properly studied the qualification dates I can see why the ROM clasp comes where it does, but I don't see why the DOM clasp comes where it does. Qualification dates for this are 13 October 1899-17 May 1900, but in order of wearing it comes between Wepener 9-25 April 1900 and Transvaal 24 May 1900 onwards. It ought to come straight after the ROM clasp. It only fits where it is if the final date of 17 May 1900 is taken, which isn't how it works anywhere else.

Have I got this right? If so, can anybody explain it?

Patrick
