Excellent photographs, the carbines are now actually rather rare and only very seldom turn up, there is a Badges, Uniforms and Equipment section of this forum where you might like to start a particular thread rather than use the Introductions section.

Terry

Many thanks for the excellent introduction to the British magazine rifles of the Boer War. My 'British' son is visiting at present, and he recently took the first practical step in a long-held interest by purchasing a Zulu War vintage Martini-Henry. A magazine rifle is next on his shopping list, so he was very interested in your photographs. I have already given him the copies of the 'Military History Journal' that included your articles on the rifles used in Colonial Natal.

Regards
Brett
