Hi,

In the process of researching my family I have come across the diary of my great grandfather Gunner JW Davies in which he gives a first hand account of the march by Lord Roberts from Modder to Bloemenfontien 12.2.00 to 13.3.00. I thought you may be interested. I have attached the first couple of pages. It is in pencil and so has suffered a bit with time but is largely readable.
I can post the remaining pages if you would find it of interest

Robea

I second Paul's welcome and his request that you post the rest of the diary. You are very fortunate to have inherited such a valuable record.

Regards
Brett

Evening, I have had a go at improving the quality of the scan and I think I have done this. Some of the writing is very feint, suggestions as to how to improve this are welcome!

I hope you enjoy reading it. I will post some more later or possibly tomorrow (I am lambing at the moment and a bit pushed for time)

Latest batch. Sorry about the serial nature of this but size seems to matter on my router.
