My name is Cliff Card and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa.
My interest in the ABW was spiked when I spent a caravan holiday at Heidelberg Kloof several years ago. I was browsing through the Heidelberg library one afternoon and happened on some ABW literature which featured Heidelberg quite prominently; including an account of the conviction and execution of Salmon van As for the murder of Captain Miers. I then discovered the grave of captain Miers in what was the derelict old kloof cemetary adjoining the Heidelberg Kloof caravan park. From there, it's an easy step to become embroiled in this fascinating part of SA history.
