Natal historian, Gilbert Torlage, died yesterday in Pietermaritzburg a few days short of his 67th birthday. He was perhaps best known outside of Natal as a battlefield tour guide, and his contributions to the 'Battles of the Anglo-Boer War' series of booklets that were published in 1999 - 'A Guide to the Anglo-Boer War Sites of KwaZulu-Natal' (with Steve Watt), 'The Battle of Spioenkop', and 'The Battle of Colenso' (with S B Bourquin). He is survived by his wife, Jenny, three children, and one grandchild.

Very sad news, Brett, he was a nice gentleman, no age whatsoever either, at sixty seven.
