Well.......
Hi all my name is Steve Bailey and I am researching my great-grandpa Harry Aldridge.
He was born in High Wycombe in 1874 and died there too aged 43 in 1918.
After jumping to a conclusion that he died in the Great War, it turned out he died of stomach cancer but was listed as a war pensioner.
Once again I jumped to the conclusion that this was the Great War but somebody kindly put up the following info on ancestry.com:

So again I've jumped to another conclusion that perhaps he served in the 2nd Boer War......
So here I am researching a war that has never really appeared on my radar, a man I have never met or even have a picture of!
So please bear with me as I post requests for answer to silly and obvious questions and generally go around in circles!!
Thanks all!!
Steve Bailey
