Hi,I am researching my Great Grandfather.I wondered if anybody can help my find out anything about him & whether he received any medals. He was in the Boar War. His name was
George Henry Price. 22751. 42nd coy, 12th bn, Imperial Yeomanry.

Information from the Queen's South Africa Medal (QSA) roll shows that 22751 Pte. George Henry Price, 42nd Coy, 12th Bn, Imperial Yeomanry was awarded the QSA with clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, and South Africa 1901. A note says he was 'Invalided 10 September 1901' presumably back to the UK.

Louise, you may very likely find his IY attestation papers in series WO 128 (index in WO 129) in The National Archives. If he saw service later in WWI for example you might be able to find copies of his service record on Find My Past.

GH Price's service papers are not at the National Archives - they are on FindmyPast (ref www.boerwarregister.com ).
